After sleeping for more than a month since his last cultural adventure, Guernsey Tom was well prepared for another early morning start to beat the crowds at the Great Wall of China. The long drive offered him plenty of time for thought. “What if there is a no stuffed tomato policy like the Taj Mahal? Can you really see it from space?”  Given that he is only a stuffed tomato he sensibly opted to take the reassuringly Austrian built cable car to the top. He was fortunate enough to journey in the same car that John Major had used when visiting, kindly informed by a plaque within. Thanks to zero security Guernsey Tom rolled out of the John Major cable car and climbed a few steps before standing on the Great Wall of China…and it was great!

We love seeing the different ways in which customers use our products, this customer made their poster look lovely by putting it on an easel for their party, they added matching ribbon which finishes it off perfectly!

One of our designers, Guernsey Tom, is off on his travels with a little friend, here is one of his updates to brighten a dull day…

Guernsey Tom made it all the way to the Taj Mahal as promised (see attached). He woke at sunrise and rolled down the street, round the back of the Taj Mahal to the riverside temple where one man and his just about able to float boat waited for a secluded viewing of the Taj Mahal.

Guernsey Tom was amazed that he could see one of the seven wonders of the world in such isolation despite it’s popularity. Fortunately, he was able to see the Taj from the river as passing through security into the actual grounds he was confiscated and temporarily stored in a locker along with his friends Guernsey playing cards. Sitting in the darkened drawer he thought it strange that an inanimate, harmless, cute and cuddly object such as himself was not allowed in when mr penknife entered without a problem!

Off to a national park today to try and spot a tiger.

As well as the party invitations, thank you cards, business products, posters and gifts you can now purchase your personalised individual cards here too. Be it a Birthday, Engagement, Anniversary, Christening or Wedding card you need we have loads of designs to choose from. Find your favourite and customise it by adding their name,  your own message inside and you can even upload an image.

The card will be sent out the same day if purchased by midday or the next working day if after midday (Monday to Friday), you can have the  card sent to your address to give personally or you can have it sent direct to your recipient’s address, it couldn’t be simpler.

Ballistic Blue sponsored the Guernsey Island Games postcards for 2011, which in the previous Games had proved very popular with local school children and the athletes themselves.

The Guernsey teams and individuals came out on top with an amazing collection of medals, 41 gold, 41 silver and 25 bronze.

A special delivery of over 200 postcards arrived in the Bailiwick during the Island Games. They were sent from competitors to local school children and covered everything from the weather to sporting success.

The children were thrilled that the athletes took the time to write to them. “They didn’t have to write to every single person in our year and they did,” said Lakisha from St Martin’s Primary School. “I thought that was very generous of them.”

The postcards were dreamed up by Dave Inglis who looks after the public relations for the Guernsey Island Games Association. He worked with design company Ballistic Blue to launch the idea.

“On the front we’ve got the Guernsey Island Games logos and general theme incorporating images from the actual island itself like a traditional postcard, so that the Children get an impression of what the island is like.”

Denise Fawcett, Chairperson of the Guernsey Island Games Association, thought the initiative was an excellent idea.

“I think it’s great that we try to involve the whole of the island in this and particularly the young people of the island.”

It helped that the athletes themselves were so enthusiastic about writing to the children.

“They didn’t just write one liners,” said Denise, “it was a super little precis about what was happening to them. So I think it’s quite inspirational for the young people for when they get older, and looking towards the island games.”

The children we spoke to were delighted to receive the postcards and were inspired by the athletes to train harder in their chosen sports.
